What I Learned
1. Don't be so... = giving a command
Don't be so + adjective
- Don't be so sure.
- Don't be so impatient.
- Don't be so stubborn. (
= unreasonably or perversely unyielding)stubborn - Don't be so sarcastic.
2. You'll regret = to feel upset over past actions.
You'll regret + that + noun.
You'll regret + verb-
ing You'll regret + if + pronoun + don't + verb.
- You'll regret that tattoo.
- You'll regret letting her go.
- You'll regret if you don't at least try.
- You'll regret if you don't get the house now.
3. I told you to... = reminding someone about your previous warning
I told you to + verb (present tense)
- I told you to wait for me.
- I told you to stop bugging me. (
= annoying, disturbing)bugging - I told you to stop telling me lies.
- I told you to cut down on sugar.
4. I told you not to...
I told you not to + verb (present tense)
- I told you not to interrupt me.
- I told you not to drink and drive.
